Dip-Dyed Shorts

So recently I was shopping for shorts and I noticed how expensive they are! Once I discovered how cheap and easy it is to make my own, I will never buy shorts ever again!:) So I just thought I would show you these basic dip-dyed shorts.

Can you believe that these shorts were only 4 dollars!? I cant!

Step 1: Go to your local thrift store (I just went to goodwill) and buy a pair of high wasted jeans. (keep in mind they only have to fit around your butt and thighs... all of mine were so funny trying on! They were major high waters!)

Step 2: Try on the jeans and mark the length you want them to be.. my advice is to make the front shorter than the back, but it is up to you.

*A tip is to fold your jeans over so and cut along the line so your shorts are even like so:

Step 3: Distress your shorts! (optional) I took some tweezers and just tugged at the end, you can also use sandpaper, both work! For the wholes I just cut slits and then did the same things with tweezers and/ or sandpaper.

Step 4: Get a bucket and pour about 1-2 inches of bleach in it. Make sure to wear gloves and not let it get on anything cause it won't come out! Dip your shorts in, you can go all in or just the top or bottom. I did the top. Leave it in for 10-15 minutes or longer depending on how light you want it. Take them out and ring them.

Step 5: Take the toothbrush and run it under water. Then rub the line where the bleach and the shorts meet. This will help it to blend easier.

Step 6: Wash and dry your new shorts as a delicate wash and enjoy!

Sugar Lips

Alright so I just thought I would do a quick DIY lip scrub! This is really easy and fast, it took me only about 2 minutes!

You will need:

2 tablespoons white or brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
Petroleum jelly (vaseline)

In a lidded plastic bowl mix the sugar and the olive oil. Dip your fingers in the mix and rub on your lips for about 10-15 seconds. Rinse the scrub off with warm water and then follow with the petroleum jelly. Pop on the lid to the mix and put it in the fridge for later use! *presses "that was easy" button*

Hope this was helpful!

The Perfect Red Lip

At my school where a live I am not an official High schooler, so to speak, even though I am in ninth grade. Our elementary school goes K-6, our Junior High 7-9, and our high school goes 10-12. So that brings me to why I have my ninth grade formal this Friday, because this is our last year in the Junior High! (I am sooo ready for high school!) And that brings me to my blog for today! The perfect red lip!
I am very fair skinned and when I first thought of the possibility of getting a red dress, I have to admit, I was a little scared. Red is quite the daring color! But as I thought it over and tried on my first red dress, I was quite pleased, plus the dress was on sale for only $20! BONUS!:) I thought of ways I could spice up my makeup for my dress and decided on a red lip. So here is what I have learned about how to receive the perfect red lip:

1. Take any old (Clean) toothbrush you have lying around and run it under warm water until it is damp. Rub the tooth brush over your lips to get off all the dead skin.

2. (Optional) Use a lip scrub! Red is a color that will show all your imperfections on your lips, so hydrate with a nice sugary scrub!

3. Use chapstick, let it sink in before step 4.

4. Apply lip liner around the edges of your lips to create a nice shape and to make your red lips last longer!

5. Then take your tube of lipstick, start on your bottom lip. Go from the inside of your lip towards the outside.

7. Take a lip brush and spread it out. Fill in all the cracks that you can't reach with the tube.

8. Blot your lips on a tissue.
9. Pat translucent powder on your lips so it will last through the night.
10. Put on your final coat then fix all mistakes with a cu-tip!
11. And presto! Stand back and admire your daring lips!;)

Thanks for reading and I hope it helps! Please comment if you would like to see my hair and or my dress for the dance! Love you all! Heres me being.... hmmm I don't even know...

My new Addiction

I would not read this blog unless you would like to waist a few minutes of your life. If that is the case READ ON!:)

Alright so I would like to talk to you guys about my somewhat new addiction... Special K protein bars. I think I have honestly gone days when I eat like 3-4 of these... and sometimes days where that is practically all I eat. I know... sad, but good!;) They are a perfect quick easy breakfast, before soccer snack, and bedtime snack... yet it probably isn't all that good for me to eat so many, let's be honest I think they are mainly chocolate and peanut butter. (FYI: the chocolate and peanut butter is the best flavor you will find)

So if you have been craving chocolate, but can not find a somewhat healthy alternative to good ol' candy bars, then I am informing you now! Go to your local food market and buy these beautiful protein bars.
WARNING: You may get addicted.

I am be open to help on my addiction... what do you guys use as alternatives for your sweet tooth?
